The planning and implementation of courses in information literacy have long been the responsibility of librarians in the university environment. With the introduction of the Swiss Standards for Information Literacy course instructors receive a basis for the design of their course content.
The guide for courses on information literacy illustrates how courses designed based on the standards can be designed. The guide provides recommendations for the approach to planning and evaluation of courses and supports instructors in didactic questions. The formulation of learning objectives based on the standards is given particular weight. In addition to general information on the didactics and methodology of courses, the guide also provides information on organisational parameters that course instructors have to consider in the university environment.
